Q: Do you offer mammograms?
A: No, we do not offer mammograms in our office, but we can help you get an appointment
with a local provider of this service.
Q: What insurances do you accept?
A: We are signed as participating providers with the following carriers:
Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, QHP, Cigna, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Q: Do you offer childbirth classes?
A: Yes, we do. Our classes run 3 weeks. They are offered on Monday nights, the first
three Mondays of each month. The cost for the class is $55. Enrollment should take
place during the 6th month of your pregnancy. You can call our office at 745-6447
to enroll. Class size is limited.
Q: How do I get prescriptions refilled?
A: You can call our main number and request a refill. Depending on the medication,
your condition, and how long it has been since you have been in our office, the
doctor may want to see you in person before we will refill the prescription. In
the case that we refill your prescription without seeing you in person, we ask that
you allow at least 24 hours to process the prescription.
Q: How far in advance do you schedule appointments?
A: We usually only schedule our doctors 6-8 weeks in advance. The reason for this
is to protect our patient appointments. If we scheduled further in advance, we would
end up having to cancel appointments when the doctor’s schedule changed. By not
scheduling further out we are able to reduce the number of patients that we have
to reschedule.
Q: What medications are safe for me to take while I am pregnant?
A: Tylenol, Mylanta, Mylanta II, Tums, Pepcid AC, Imodium, Kaopectate, Surfak, Colace,
Fibercon, Citrucel, Metamucil, Senokot, Preparation H, Tucks, Anusol, HC, Proctofoam,
Monistat, Mycelex, Gyne-Lotrimin, Tylenol PM, Unisom. After 12 weeks of pregnancy
you may also take Sudafed, Benadryl, Actifed, Robitussin. This is a partial list-discuss
any particular medications with your doctor at your visit.
Q: When I am pregnant, what warning signs should I look for that should prompt me
to call the office?
A: The following things should prompt you to call our office immediately:
*Vaginal bleeding greater than your normal menstrual period
*No fetal movement for 12 hours (after 20 weeks of pregnancy)
*Persistent headache unrelieved by Tylenol
*More than 4-6 contractions in one hour before 35 weeks of pregnancy
*Persistent leakage of fluid from the vagina
Q: I think I am pregnant, what should I do?
A: Call our office and set up an initial visit, what we call a “Pregnancy Confirmation”
visit. We will tell you everything you need to know at that appointment.
Q: Do you offer 4D ultrasounds?
A: Yes, we do. We offer the latest in ultrasound technology. This service can give
you unbelievable pictures of your soon-to-be-born child. This is an elective service
and is not covered by insurance. Please call our office to discuss scheduling and
prices.
Q: What is the Essure procedure and do you offer it?
A: Yes, we offer the Essure procedure. It is a non-surgical procedure that provides permanent birth control.
It can be done in our office in less than an hour and does not involve any cutting or general anesthesia.
Most women who have this procedure resume their normal activities within one day.

Q: What is your group’s stance on bio-identical hormone therapy?
A: Our group does not support the use of bio-identical hormone therapy, for several reasons. We agree with the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists and the Food and Drug Administration, who have both determined that there is no scientific evidence to support the safety or usefulness of this therapy.
